So far, we are organizing our stuffs inside boxes and the apartment is a huge mess…..We are moving in a few days and, although, I am so happy for the new place (with 3 playgrounds on-walking distance an a great balcony for our mommy-daughter time and future flowers-vegetables pots) I hate all the moving process. In the meantime, we have been collecting leaves (all kind of shapes and sizes) and learning about birds, flowers, gardens. I’m hoping to post anytime soon!

Montessori Monday- Hawaii (part 2)

We were practicing last week with lots of Sensorial activities using a Hawaii theme!

  • Sorting by colors or by shapes. (I cut a necklace from the Dollar Store; got 3 for $1) I can use them as counters, too!

Marlee 34-35 mo 046

  • Pincer grasp practice with marbles inside a Hawaiian dress.

Marlee 34-35 mo 084

  • Sorting flamingoes with tongs. (Ok, flamingoes aren’t from Hawaii but found them in all the stuff I bought so why not to use them?)

Marlee 34-35 mo 081

  • Inserting flowers on sticks. (These are from a Lei necklace that I broke in order to make Pinky’s flowers bracelets) She has to pass the stick thru the hole in the center of the flower.

Marlee 34-35 mo 087Marlee 34-35 mo 088

  • Matching sandpaper numbers with the corresponding amount of rocks.

Marlee 34-35 mo 091

  • Clothespin and birds!

Marlee 34-35 mo 095

  • Inserting wood beads on pipe cleaners. (This is suppose to be a palm tree with coconuts. I just took 2 sticks, put a brown pipe cleaner around and them 2 green ones.)

Marlee 34-35 mo 094

  • Language- Tracing letters with crayons

Marlee 34-35 mo 092

  • Art- Painting with yarn, bottle caps, toothpicks, etc. Also, painting a flower on canvas.

  • Sensory box- Hawaiian style! With buttons I found at Michaels and the rocks are from our fish bowl (Yes, I washed them very well before using them).

Now that I am looking at the pictures, I think we did plenty of activities for our Hawaiian theme…..the truth is that we were having too much fun with it!

Therefore, we still have Hawaii part 3!!!

Daddy was the one having the real fun since he was attending some conferences there! Therefore, we were learning about Hawaii! What a fun and loooongggg week…..

Here it is:

  • Learning about Hawaii Islands, looking for them and home on a map.

Marlee 34-35 mo 003 Marlee 34-35 mo 545

  • Our Hawaiian set up! (Everything from the dollar store!)

Marlee 34-35 mo 007Marlee 34-35 mo 005

Marlee 34-35 mo 544 Marlee 34-35 mo 543 Marlee 34-35 mo 530

That’s how we started our Hawaiian week!

She loved her Hawaiian dress and hula dancing all the time. Pinky loves to dance and whenever she is dancing she put this kind of funny/serious face that I can’t help myself laughing. She really looks sooooo cute!!!

All our Hawaiian flowers, birds, etc. I found them on Dollar tree store! I really love that store!

We still have moooooooorrrrrrreeeeeee for another post!

Blessings!
