This is the first time that we do something for Fat Tuesday….Pinky woke up early and asking to do something….so..I got into that mommy’s moment when you HAVE to get inspired, grab the first thing you see around and try do make a fun project with your happy toddler…..
You know that construction paper won’t let you down…plus a card board…plus glue….paint (the best)…and why not some glitter (not mommy’s favorite one)…ooopppsss…and scissors, tape, elastic band and FEATHERS!
What can we do with these?….a MASK!!!!
Just draw our mask shape on the card board….cut little pieces of construction papers….put lots of glue on the mask and paste the paper…then decorate with everything you have…(you know…toddlers love excess of everything!).
We added glitter and feathers…..I had to do a lot of cutting until found the correct mask shape for my daughter’s face.
She was sooooooo happyyyyyyyy with her free new toy…..!!! Priceless face!
Also, we did a matching funny hat….which, later, went to our little friend E outfit….when she saw it she was sooo happy, too! and Pinky was glad to share (at the very beginning!)….after a while she was running after E trying to get her hat back….lol……therefore, mommy had to improvise a very fast hat for Pinky, too!
It was a great time…we did a two little girl Mardi gras parade with instruments and lot of noise, too….Our instruments were: Drums (empty oatmeal cans), flutes (from an old party), and noise makers….plus lots of jumping, dancing and cheers from their mommies!
What a great, fun…and cheap….pretending time!!! It reminds me of my childhood when we didn’t have too many toys, just a group of friends, our imagination and a whole neighborhood to explore!
Have fun!!!
